About Croatia
Croatia’s nightlife depends on where you’re staying and each hotspot has its own vibe:
Split is the perfect mix: beach bars by day, big clubs by night, and loads of pre-drink spots in the Old Town.
Great for groups who want nightlife but also beaches, boat trips and exploring.
Hvar is more boujee. Beach clubs, cocktails, waterfront vibes, and then huge nights at places like Carpe Diem Beach.
You’ll be swimming off a boat at 2pm and dancing on tables by 10pm.
Party Hard Tip:
Set your budget for your trip and be prepared for some costs you may have forgotten about such as transport every night and don’t order a drink without seeing a menu, your bank account might regret the price of it!
Croatia’s transport depends on where you’re flying into:
Split Airport → Split
20–30 minutes by:
- Private transfer
- Shuttle bus
- Taxi/Uber
- Local bus (cheapest but slowest)
Split → Hvar
You’ll need a ferry or catamaran, around 1 hour depending on the route.
Best option for party holidays?
Private transfer every time. No waiting around, no stress, straight to the pool or club. Remember to get talking on the plane or in the airport you can fare share with people around. Also if you’re planning to explore and bar-hop across different areas, a travel pass will save you money.
Croatia is generally safe for party goers, but like any big nightlife destination:
- Wear a cross-body bag that zips.
- Never leave your phone on tables or in back pockets.
- Only take out the essentials — leave passports at the hotel, your provisional/driving license is always a better shout for I.D anyways
- Don’t leave stuff on the beach or boats unattended.
- Watch the sun — Croatia hits 35°C+ and creeps up on you fast.
- Don’t dive off rocks unless you know the depth (some spots look deep but aren’t).
Party Hard Travel also has reps in-resort to help if you need anything. Stick with your group, stay hydrated and you’re all good.
Yes…Croatia has a small, standard tourist tax, usually less than €2 per night depending on region and accommodation.
Hotels normally collect this at check-in.
It’s not a big charge, just don’t be shocked if reception mentions it.
Super chilled, but with a little more style depending on where you stay.
Split:
Beach clubs = relaxed, daytime fits.
Nightclubs = casual but tidy (think smart tees, nice dresses, clean trainers).
Hvar:
A little dressier, it’s a “cocktail by the sea” vibe.
Girls wear cute holiday dresses.
Guys wear shirts or nice tees with shorts.
Heels aren’t really needed – lots of cobbles and steps!
Alongside your normal holiday bits:
- European adapters – (not UK plugs!)
- Comfy sandals or trainers – you’ll walk loads and the events can be a fair few hours so make sure you’re ready to dance all night long
- Beach shoes if you’re hitting the rocky coves, I don’t think the Primark sandals will be your best friend for this one
- Portable/Hand held fan – Croatia hits 30°C+ easy and you don’t want to waste your time getting all fresh and ready to head out to be hit with unbearable sweat in places you didn’t realise you could even sweat
- Mini first aid bits for nightlife-related injuries, there will be pharmacies and doctors available but it’s usually more expensive in destination so make sure you are a little prepared to save some extra money
- Cross-body bag for nights on The Strip, keep that phone out of your back pocket and instead zipped away in a trusty bag
- A hoodie/light layer – evenings can get breezy out of peak season and there is nothing worse than being chilly on your holiday
- Sun cream – It’s more expensive to purchase from the shops out there so if you have run just shove one in just so you’re safe
- Waterproof phone pouch for boat parties
- Something to cover your shoulders in peak heat
Croatia varies by area:
Split:
- Daily spend: €60–€100
- Cocktails: €8–€15
- Beers: €3–€6
- Club entry: varies by event (big nights cost more)
- Taxis: fairly priced but not always needed
Hvar:
It’s the priciest.
Expect €70–€120 daily if you’re doing beach clubs + nightlife.
Party Hard Tip:
Prebook your main events & boat parties as they get expensive last-minute.
Croatia knows how to party.
- Beach clubs: start early afternoon → sunset → carry on
- Bars: often until 2–3am
- Clubs: usually until 5–6am
- Zrće parties: can run literally until sunrise
Don’t expect early nights… no one else is having one.
A few quick ones:
- Drinking on the street can be fined in some parts of Split/Hvar — stick to bars.
- No glass bottles near beaches or boats (safety rule).
- Ferries leave on time — don’t rock up hungover and late.
- Hydration = essential. You won’t realise how hot it is until you stop moving.
As long as you keep it respectful, Croatia is super chilled with tourists.
